Purpose :
Hydraulic Ram is device used for pumping small quantity of water to high head, when large quantity of water at small head is available.
Details :
The apparatus consists of a supply tank to which a valve chamber and delivery chamber is connected. Various measurements are required to evaluate the performance of a Ram.
Basic set‑up specifications :
- Supply tank 150 liters Capacity with overflow arrangement to maintain a constant supply.
- Supply piping 25 mm NB
- Waste valve, Delivery valve and Air vessel fitted at the end of supply pipe.
- Delivery pipe 15 mm NB
- Measuring flask : 1 Liter capacity or Tank 300 X 300 X 300mm
- Hydraulic Ram to work against a delivery head of up to 1.5 m
