HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH LAGGED PIPE-
Model Number : VIPL-HT-14
HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH LAGGED PIPE
EXPERIMENTATION:-
1. To estimate the actual rate of heat transfer through composite Cylinders from the measured interface temperature with the known value of thermal conductivity of two insulating material.
2. To determine the effective thermal conductivity of composite Cylinders
3. To plot the theoretical temperature profile with in the composite Cylinder
DESCRIPTION:-
Pipe lagging is the process of providing insulation to prevent heat diffusion from pipe. The insulating material is normally wrapped around pipes.
The apparatus is designed to study the lagging phenomenon. Three concentric pipes are arranged between two supports. The gap between the pipes is filled compactly by two different insulating materials and heater is provided at the center of inner pipe. Temperature at various points is measured with thermocouples.
