FLEXURAL TEST ATTACHMENT FOR CTM

As per IS 516 (Part 1/Sec 1) : 2021. Flexural test attachment to be connected to CTM. This attachment is particularly useful as a space and cost saving option to the users of Compression testing machine who also wishes to carryout the Flexural testing without need to purchase a separate machine for the same. This attachment can be connected to any Semi automatic or automatic pace rate controlled CTM to test flexural beam(Prism)mould of 100X100X500 or 150X150X700mm test specimen. The CTM should be capable of applying the load at a rate 0.7 N/mm2/min (rate of loading being 4 kN/min for 150 mm specimens and 1.8 kN/min for 100 mm specimens).

IS 516 (Part 1/Sec 1) : 2021, IS: 9399-1979, BS: 1881-Part 118, ASTM C78

Construction Details:

  1. 100 kN Capacity flexural loading unit
  2. The lower platen has two rollers, the distance between which is adjustable.
  3. For 150 mm x 150 mm x 700 mm beam, the center distance between the rollers is 600 mm, while it is 400 mm for beams of size 100 mm x 100 mm x 500 mm.
  4. The upper platen has also a pair of rollers whose distance is adjustable.
  5. The distance between upper roller is 200 mm center to center, for 150 mm x 150 mm x 700 mm size beam and 133 mm for 100 mm x 100 mm x 500 mm size beam.

This is an attachment to be connected to CTM.The CTM should be capable of applying the load at a rate 0.7 N/mm2/min (rate of loading being 4 kN/min for 150 mm specimens and 1.8 kN/min for 100 mm specimens).
