The manhole cover testing machine is designed as per IS 12592. The machine will be able to accommodate manhole cover of 1200 mm x 1200 mm size. With variable AUTOMATIC pace rate CONTROL from 1 kN / sec to 10 kN / sec. The machine with digital read out, showing actual load, peak load and permanent set . The machine is able to conduct 5 cyclic load test automatically for permanent set. The machine is able to hold the load for 30 sec to conduct the load test and there after will be release automatically. The manhole cover testing machine is designed as per IS 12592.

The machine is capable of measuring following:

  1. Load test
  2. Permanent set (displacement)

The machine will consist of two units.

  1. Automatic Pumping unit
  2. Load frame

Pumping unit:

  1. The pumping unit will work on single phase,220 volts.
  2. The pumping unit will be compact, filled with hydraulic oil.
  3. The pumping unit will have no valve.
  4. No need to tighten the release valve. Once the machine is stared the machine will run on rapid approach and as soon as it touches to the sample machine will run on pre decided pace rate.
  5. The pace rate of the machine will be controlled automatically from 1 kN / sec to 10 kN / sec
  6. The pumping unit will have digital read out, showing actual load, peak load and permanent set .
  7. The pumping unit will be equipped with pressure sensor to give accurate reading of load in kN.
  8. The accuracy of the pumping unit will be + or ‑ 1% and will give resolution in 0.1 kn.  
  9. There will be sensor to find out the permanent set of deformation in the manhole cover.
  10. The pumping unit will have over load protection which will trip the machine in case of over load.
  11. The machine is able to conduct 5 cyclic load test automatically for permanent set.
  12. The machine is able to hold the load for 30 sec to conduct the load test and there after will be release automatically.

Load frame :

  1. The load frame will be fully welded which will be able to take a load of 500 kN.
  2. The load frame will able to accommodate manhole cover of 1200 mm x 1200 mm size.
  3. The machine will be supplied with the plate to place the manhole cover. The plate will be hardened and properly shaped.
  4. The hydraulic jack of the machine will be provided on the top of the machine which will be able to slide up‑down with the help of the handle. The ram dia of the jack will be 120.00 mm
  5. The load frame will be connected to the pumping unit with the help of hose pipe.
  6. The machine will be supplied with operation manual and calibration certificate.

One has to do following operations for the complete testing on the machine.

  1. Place the sample and take the initial reading for the permanent set.
  2. Press start button
  3. The machine will automatically complete the 5 cycle for the permanent set and ready to take reading for the permanent set (Second reading).
  4. For load test the machine will start on the start command and stops automatically on the completion of the load test of 30 seconds.
  5. Simple and hassle free, no skilled worker required.
