Basic Model. These test methods cover the determination of the flash point of petroleum products in the temperature range from 40 to 360° C by a manual Pensky Martens Closed Cup Apparatus. The apparatus serve the purpose according to IS 1209, IS 1448: Part 21, IS 1448: Part 66, ASTM D93, ISO 2719, IP 34, JIS K2265-3. The apparatus consists of a Brass Test cup with handle, removable cup cover with spring operated rotating shutter having Oil pilot jet, stirrer with flexible shaft (not-motorized). With energy regulator for temperature regulation, Suitable for operation on 220 volts AC mains. Open clip, IP Glass Thermometers, Gas test jet device available at extra cost. To Satisfy the requirements as per IS 1209, IS 1448: Part 21, IS 1448: Part 66, ASTM D93, ISO 2719, IP 34, JIS K2265-3, motorized stirrer and open clip are needed and available at extra cost.

Purpose:

This is widely used for determination for closed cup Flash Point of Fuel Oil, cut back asphalts, other viscous material and suspension of solids having a flash point above 49° C (50° C ‑ 360° C).


These test methods cover the determination of the flash point of petroleum products in the temperature range from 40 to 360° C by a manual Pensky Martens Closed Cup Apparatus.


Brief Construction Details:

  1. The apparatus consists of a Brass Test cup with handle removable cup cover.
  2. It incorporates spring operated rotating shutter having oil pilot jet for ignition.
  3. The assembly rests in Air Bath which is covered with Dome shape metal top.
  4. The complete assembly rests on a round/rectangular shaped heater with energy regulator.
  5. The cup is fitted with insulated handle and locking arrangement near cup flange.
  6. Suitable for operation on 220 volts, 50 Hz, AC mains
  7. The motorized shaft can be available with digital temperature controller at extra cost.

AT EXTRA COST

  1. The Instrument can be supplied with open clip for converting close cup model to open cup model as per IP:35 at extra cost.
  2. IP Thermometer No. 15C and 16C available at extra cost
  3. Gas test jet device and "Y" tube at extra cost
