WET WASHING SIEVE - 75 MICRON
The wet washing sieve method is critical for reliable grain size analysis, especially when testing fine-grained or cohesive soils. It ensures better separation of particles and improves the accuracy of soil classification. Standards such as IS 2720 (Part 4), ASTM D1140, and AASHTO T11 define the procedure and requirements for conducting the test.
FIELD DENSITY TEST APPARATUS - WATER REPLACEMENT METHOD - IS 2720 (PART 33)
The field density test by the water replacement method, as per IS: 2720 Part XXXII, is used to determine the in-situ density of soil, particularly in cases where sand replacement or core cutter methods may not be suitable. The water replacement method involves creating a cavity in the soil and determining the volume of the cavity by measuring the water required to fill it. The field density is calculated by dividing the mass of the soil removed by the volume of the cavity, allowing for accurate density measurements in cohesive and coarse-grained soils.
GRAIN SIZE ANALYSIS APPARATUS PIPETTE METHOD - AS PER IS2720 PART-IV
For the determination of distribution of grain sizes smaller than 75-microns. Used for Gain size analysis of the fraction passing 75 micron IS sieve out of the portion passing 4.75mm IS sieve. As per IS:2720 (Part 4) and BS 1377-2.
HYDROMETER JAR BATH (ASTM D7928-17, ASTM D6913)-SEDIMENT TEST
The Hydrometer Jar bath maintains a constant temperature (e.g., 20°C) for the sedimentation cylinder during the test. The same bath can be used to Maintains a constant temperature @15°C for the test requirements as per ASTM D1298.

DE-AIRED WATER APPARATUS
De-aired water is crucial in soil and rock testing, especially for triaxial tests, to prevent inaccuracies caused by air bubbles. The presence of dissolved air can: Affect pore water pressure measurements, reduce sample saturation, Impact fluid permeability and disturb the effective stress principle: Accurate triaxial testing relies on maintaining proper pore pressures, which is not possible if air remains in the system.
