The apparatus designed for testing the Vicat softening temperature of UPVC pipes as per IS 12235 (Part 2). It features a six-station system for testing six samples at a time, precise temperature control, LVDT-based displacement measurement, water-cooled bath, and PC connectivity for generating test reports in PDF and Excel formats. Suitable for testing products covered under IS 4985, IS 13592, IS 12818, and IS 14375.

Technical Specifications :

  1. The equipment is a six-station system, enabling testing of six samples simultaneously.
  2. The bath is jacketed and is provided with cool water circulation.
  3. The heating rate is 50 ± 5 °C/hr, controlled by a PID controller.
  4. The maximum working temperature is 250 °C.
  5. The apparatus is supplied with six weights of 50 N each for performing the tests.
  6. The system is equipped with six needle indenters and six LVDTs. Range upto 10mm with resolution of 0.01mm.
  7. The bath can use liquid paraffin, transformer oil, glycerol, or silicone oils as heat-transfer media. The liquid selected will be stable at the testing temperature and will not affect the test material.
  8. The equipment is PC-compatible through communication cables, and the software will generate results in PDF/Excel formats.
